To achieve this look I have used the Fleur mesh stencil with American buttercream on fondant.
I started off by covering my ganached covered cake with white fondant.
This was left to air dry for 30 minutes. During this time I mixed American buttercream with black colour gel and piping gel to achieve a spreadable consistency.
Holding the stencil taut against the cake, start spreading the buttercream mixture with a spatula, ensuring to spread in the same direction each time.
Once the stencil is fully covered, remove the stencil by pulling it away from cake from one side.
Wash, dry and repeat until the cake is fully decorated as desired.
Allow the cake to dry for 30 minutes.
Finally paint the flowers and petals using an airbrush. Hand painting would also work very well.
